About the Role
The Scheduling Clerk is a key member of the Bethany Calgary team, responsible for providing exceptional support to staff and ensuring the smooth operation of scheduling processes. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resident-Centered Care: Ensure that staff scheduling is completed efficiently and accurately, responding to employee inquiries in a timely and service-focused manner. Allocate and call in relief staff to fill vacancies, distribute scheduling to nursing units, and promote service excellence.
- Documentation: Accurately document staff scheduling, ensuring compliance with Bethany policies and procedures. Forward scheduling information to payroll within established timelines, process requests, and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Safety: Contribute to a safe environment by understanding and adhering to safety guidelines and practices.
- Pro-Active Learner: Demonstrate Bethany's vision and values, collaborate with colleagues, and share knowledge and learning experiences.
- Team Work: Foster a responsible atmosphere of resident-centered care, maintaining effective communication and information flow between departments.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years' experience with electronic scheduling, preferably in healthcare
- Previous experience with geriatrics preferred
- Able to work effectively in a physically and mentally demanding environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to understand, speak, read, and write effectively in English
- Excellent observation, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of pay/premium codes and their impact on payroll, finance, budgets, and benefits
- Experience using and complying with union agreements
