Job Summary

The City of Ottawa is seeking a skilled Water Distribution Specialist to join our team in the Infrastructure & Water Services Dept. This role will be responsible for providing leak detection services, including emergency response, non-emergency response, leak surveys, and other planned work, as well as pinpointing leak locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leak detection services, including emergency response, non-emergency response, leak surveys, and other planned work
  • Pinpoint leak locations
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure effective delivery of services
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of water distribution systems' infrastructure and operations
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant policies, standards, and procedures
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in water distribution or a related field
  • Experience and training in providing leak detection services and/or locates for a water system is an asset
  • Must possess and maintain Ontario MOE Class 1 Drinking Water Distribution Operator Certificate or Ontario MOE Class 1 Water Treatment Operator Certificate
  • Strong knowledge of water distribution systems' infrastructure and operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable and conscientious
