STATUS: 1.0 FTE

HOURS OF OPERATION: 11-7 weekdays; 9-4:30pm Saturdays

UNION: Manitoba Association of Healthcare Professionals (MAHCP)

SALARY: $$ $40.296/hour

TERM DATE: Coverage for Indefinite Leave

JOB SUMMARY
The Rehabilitation Counsellor is responsible for delivering comprehensive case management, facilitating systems navigation, and providing counseling services to clients visiting the Indigenous-led RAAM Clinic. The role emphasizes the importance of intake assessments, therapeutic counseling, appropriate referrals, educational workshops, and the development of individualized treatment plans addressing the impacts of addiction.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Completion of a degree in Social Services
  • At least six months of experience working with individuals facing addiction challenges

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of two years of experience in mental health at a paraprofessional level
  • Understanding of addiction and mental health issues
  • Familiarity with Mental Health Programs and Services

SPECIALIZED TRAINING
  • Certification in Mental Health First Aid and ASIST
  • Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

  • Ability to manage stress and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficient in case management and problem-solving techniques
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
