POSITION SUMMARY

The Syndicated Financing Associate / Director plays a crucial role within the Wholesale Finance division, contributing to the expansion of the BDC Syndicated Financing portfolio by evaluating and endorsing high-quality transactions in line with our credit policies and risk frameworks. This role involves conducting thorough analyses and due diligence for Syndicated Financing loan proposals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Develop and implement strategies to showcase the capabilities of the Syndicated Financing Group to financial partners, generating new opportunities.
  2. Perform comprehensive investigations and due diligence for complex loan proposals, ensuring compliance with accepted credit practices and internal policies.
  3. Address compliance issues or significant changes that may arise during the negotiation, structuring, and documentation of deals.
  4. Oversee the assigned credit portfolio of Syndicated Financing accounts, promptly identifying and escalating any material risk concerns to maintain accurate risk ratings.
  5. Proactively cultivate a network of key influencers, including representatives from chartered banks and legal professionals, to facilitate BDC's objectives and encourage deal-sharing opportunities.
  6. Stay informed about trends and developments impacting the Syndicated Financing landscape, including market conditions and financial performance of existing and prospective clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics (or equivalent).
  2. Possession of an MBA, CPA, and/or CFA designation is advantageous.
  3. Over 7 years of relevant experience for a Director role.
  4. A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in commercial or corporate banking for an Associate role.
  5. Strong analytical skills and strategic mindset.
  6. Excellent underwriting, negotiation, and communication abilities to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
  7. Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively to meet deadlines, demonstrating strong organizational skills and proactivity.
  8. Exceptional oral and written communication skills in both official languages (French and English) are essential.
