Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a vital resource within a team of seasoned finance professionals who originate, structure, and execute intricate institutionally supported financing transactions for privately-held companies.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis on historical and projected financial performance.
- Perform various financial assessments, including working capital analysis, capital structure evaluation, and credit quality assessment.
- Examine credit agreements and indentures to evaluate covenants and other pertinent credit limitations.
- Assist in the creation of pitch materials, confidential information memorandums, and other corporate finance documentation.
- Engage in the financial due diligence process for potential suitors—supporting the preparation of virtual data rooms, tracking and cataloging data, and responding to inquiries.
- Prepare internal briefing documents to summarize and outline the terms of potential financing opportunities.
- Participate in discussions and meetings with senior management of clients.
- Build and nurture relationships with current and prospective clients.
As business needs evolve, employees may be required to work beyond standard hours.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, with a concentration in finance or accounting; CPA or CFA designation or pursuit of such designations is preferred.
- Up to 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, corporate finance, investment banking, research, private equity, or similar roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- A solid foundation in financial modeling is essential.
- Exceptional critical thinking, troubleshooting, and analytical abilities.
- A proactive attitude with a focus on results.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- A collaborative spirit and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel within and across Canada.
