Job Summary

The Physiotherapist is responsible for delivering high-quality care to clients by promoting, maintaining, and restoring functional performance. This role involves coordinating and providing quality care within the scope of practice, ensuring that clients receive the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer standardized and non-standardized assessments and observations to evaluate client abilities and create treatment plans.
  • Select appropriate treatment approaches with data to support implementation and confer with other health professionals as needed.
  • Develop individualized programs and provide therapeutic services based on the client's treatment plan.
  • Teach and/or supervise strategies and exercises to clients and their families, ensuring full and complete communication regarding treatment plans.
  • Maintain clinical and progress reports in electronic medical records.
  • Provide occasional health promotion educational programming to raise awareness of best practices and Allied Therapy services.
Requirements
  • Master's degree of Science in Physiotherapy and completed residency.
  • Registration and membership in good standing with the College of Physiotherapist of Nova Scotia and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
  • Full computer literacy and ability to learn new technology, as well as First Aid and CPR certification.
  • A clean Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Search, and valid driver's license are required.
  • Fluency in French, Cantonese, or Arabic is considered an asset.
Working Conditions

This role involves community-based care, including in-home, community locations, and virtual settings. Some heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks are required, as well as local travel.

Client satisfaction and restoration of function are key performance indicators for this role.

Entry-level criteria include a Master's degree in Physiotherapy, registration with the College of Physiotherapist of Nova Scotia, and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

Technical skills include full computer literacy, ability to learn new technology, First Aid, and CPR certification.

Miscellaneous requirements include a clean Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Search, and valid driver's license.

Fluency in French, Cantonese, or Arabic is considered an asset.
