Job Summary:

The Physiotherapist is responsible for coordinating and providing quality care within the scope of practice to clients by promoting, maintaining and/or restoring functional performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer standardized and non-standardized assessments and observations
  • Assess client's abilities and create treatment plans
  • Select appropriate treatment approaches with data to support implementation
  • Confer and co-treat with other health professionals

Client Care:

  • Develop individualized programs
  • Provide therapeutic services based on the client's treatment plan
  • Teach and/or supervise strategies and exercises to clients and their families
  • Respond to client inquiries and ensure full and complete communication regarding treatment plans

Documentation:

  • Maintain clinical and progress reports in electronic medical records

Community Education:

  • Provide occasional health promotion educational programming either in person or virtually to raise awareness of best practices, and of Allied Therapy in general

Team Support and Personal Growth:

  • Attend monthly team meetings and weekly professional development sessions provided by Allied Therapy

Conditions of Employment:

Requirements:

  • Education: Master's degree of Science in Physiotherapy. Completed Residency
  • Must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapist of Nova Scotia and eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
  • Technical Skills: Full computer literacy, Ability to learn new technology. First Aid, CPR

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A clean Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Search and a valid driver's license is required
  • Fluency in French, Cantonese or Arabic would be considered an asset
