About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our team at Shannex Incorporated. As a Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for assessing clients with physiotherapy-related concerns, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing treatment services using physiotherapy techniques or modalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and evaluate physiotherapy/occupational therapy assistants as necessary.
- Assess clients with physiotherapy-related concerns such as decreased mobility, transfer concerns, range of motion, strength, balance, pain control.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical records, observation, or referral.
- Provide treatment services for clients using physiotherapy techniques or modalities.
- Evaluate the progress of clients in relation to physiotherapy treatment provided.
- Instruct clients in the care and use of wheelchairs, braces, canes, and prosthetic devices.
- Maintain an inventory of physiotherapy equipment and supplies.
- Prepare progress reports, funding requests, and statistical reports relating to physiotherapy treatment programs and client needs.
- Train staff on back care, lifts, and transfers and other relevant topics.
- Ensure client safety by following and applying all standard operational procedures, safe work practices, and training provided.
Requirements
- Master of Science in Physiotherapy.
- Current registration with the provincial College of Physiotherapists.
- Minimum of two years clinical experience; previous experience in rehabilitation and geriatrics preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Previous experience working in long-term care.
- A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care.
