About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Proposal Manager to support our sales team in Canada and the USA. This role involves overseeing a team that includes a Technical Specialist/Subject Matter Expert and a Commercial Contract Specialist. The Proposal Manager will ensure the delivery of comprehensive and competitive proposals for excitation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Define Key Targets and Ensure Achievement: Oversee progress and define improvement actions for customer support and satisfaction.
  2. Ensure Competitive Offers: Ensure the most competitive offers considering the market situation and customer conditions; and identify the most effective approach (e.g., direct sales, consortium, or channel) for better serving the customer.
  3. Validate Terms and Conditions: Oversee the validation of terms and conditions (commercial, technical, legal, and pricing) in each offer; and support bid/no bid analyses and decisions.
  4. Participate in Project Risk Review: Participate in project risk review processes; and ensure the required technical support and clarifications are provided to the Sales organizations during technical meetings, product presentations, and negotiations with customers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in management within the power generation industry, with a focus on excitation systems and a strong understanding of excitation systems and power generation equipment.
  • Proven experience in leading operation-focused teams and managing complex projects with a focus on Customer Service.
  • Proven track record in change management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in data analytics software, Microsoft Office Suite, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge in contract negotiations with customers and suppliers.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 10%) as needed to meet with customers and stakeholders.
