Excitation Systems Proposal Lead

Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Sales and Business Development Manager.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a vital member of the Technical Sales Team, we are in search of a seasoned Proposal Lead with extensive knowledge of excitation systems and backend operations to bolster our sales initiatives across Canada and the USA. This role encompasses the leadership of a team that includes a Technical Specialist/Subject Matter Expert and a Commercial Contract Specialist. The Proposal Lead will guarantee the delivery of thorough and competitive proposals for excitation systems.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Establishing key objectives and ensuring their fulfillment by monitoring progress and defining improvement strategies for customer support and satisfaction.
- Crafting the most competitive proposals while considering market dynamics and customer requirements; identifying the most effective strategy (e.g., direct sales, consortium, or channel) to enhance customer service.
- Supervising the validation of terms and conditions (commercial, technical, legal, and pricing) for each proposal; assisting in bid/no bid evaluations and decisions.
- Engaging in project risk assessment processes; ensuring that necessary technical support and clarifications are provided to the Sales teams during technical discussions, product demonstrations, and negotiations with clients.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- At least 7 years of managerial experience in the power generation sector, with a focus on excitation systems and a comprehensive understanding of power generation equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in leading operations-focused teams and managing complex projects with an emphasis on customer service.
- Proven success in change management and process enhancement initiatives.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with contract negotiations involving clients and suppliers.
- Willingness to travel (up to 10%) as required to engage with clients and stakeholders.
