Reporting Structure

This role reports to the Sales and Business Development Manager.

Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of the Technical Sales Team, the Proposal Manager will possess extensive knowledge of excitation systems and backend operations, supporting our sales initiatives across Canada and the USA. This position involves leading a team that includes a Technical Specialist/Subject Matter Expert and a Commercial Contract Specialist, ensuring the delivery of thorough and competitive proposals for excitation systems.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Establishing key objectives and monitoring progress to enhance customer support and satisfaction.
  2. Formulating the most competitive proposals by analyzing market conditions and customer requirements, while determining the optimal approach for customer engagement.
  3. Supervising the validation of all terms and conditions (commercial, technical, legal, and pricing) for each proposal, and assisting in bid/no bid evaluations.
  4. Engaging in project risk assessment processes and ensuring that necessary technical support and clarifications are provided during technical discussions, product demonstrations, and negotiations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of managerial experience in the power generation sector, particularly with a focus on excitation systems and power generation equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading operation-focused teams and managing intricate projects with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Proven success in change management and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Strong proficiency in data analytics tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in contract negotiations with clients and suppliers.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 10%) as required to engage with clients and stakeholders.
