POSITION SUMMARY

The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player with a comprehensive understanding of Commercial Lines insurance products. They will exhibit a strong client focus and the capability to present alternative solutions to clients.

We seek a dedicated insurance professional who aligns with our company philosophy of prioritizing our clients' best interests. The selected individual will be adept at managing their workload efficiently and will contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of performing well under pressure while maintaining a friendly demeanor and ensuring the best outcomes for clients, the brokerage, and the team as a whole. Adaptability and the willingness to accept guidance are essential traits for this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivering prompt service to clients and assigned accounts by providing expert advice, assisting clients in understanding their insurance needs, and addressing concerns through various communication channels; Inputting client data into our Business Management System (BMS) and/or Policy Works; Preparing binders for all new and existing business and ensuring that liability certificates are issued to all insured parties prior to renewal; Drafting documentation for insurers, completing applications for new clients, and issuing insurance certificates; Engaging with insurance companies, negotiating with underwriters on behalf of clients, and managing the renewal process while following up on claims status with adjusters; Regularly updating client information in the computer system; Modifying insurance summaries to reflect current change requests; Informing clients of any changes; Maintaining awareness of workload and priorities; Providing backup support for Account Executives as needed; Ensuring all claims are submitted to the insurer and following up with clients the next business day to confirm appropriate handling of claims.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent; Valid license in good standing with the Alberta Insurance Council, with a minimum Level II General Insurance license; Over 5 years of experience in commercial lines, preferably within a brokerage setting; Insurance designations such as CAIB or CIP are considered advantageous; Familiarity with Power Broker and Policy Works is a plus; A positive and respectful attitude towards clients and colleagues; The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently or collaboratively, managing a busy portfolio for multiple Account Executives, and demonstrating self-motivation and attention to detail; A high level of professionalism and integrity is essential.
