About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced House Leader to join our team at Simaril Inc. Support Living. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a support team to ensure that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive the highest level of care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide guidance and support to a team of Direct Support Workers to ensure that they have the resources and training needed to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Program Planning and Management: Develop and implement programs that promote the independence, dignity, and well-being of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and agencies to ensure that their needs are met and that they receive the support they require.
  • Administrative and Financial Management: Manage budgets, schedules, and payroll to ensure that the program runs smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in direct support work and leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Education: DCSP or related post-secondary education.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certifications: Current criminal record and abuse registry checks, First Aid Certification (level C).
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with hours reflective of the locations assigned. To provide additional support outside the standard work hours, you may be required to work some overtime hours with paid compensation.

Physical Requirements

This job requires a lot of sitting, walking, bending, and lifting. The House Leader is frequently exposed to noise and a regular flow of people around the office or at the work location.
