About the Role

The House Leader is a key member of our support team, responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Coordination: Oversee and coordinate the support team to ensure that individuals receive the care and support they need to achieve their personal goals.
  • Communication and Advocacy: Communicate regularly with supported individuals, families, and agencies to ensure that their needs are met and their rights are respected.
  • Program Planning and Management: Assist in the planning and management of programs and services to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Administrative Duties: Ensure secure record keeping, monitor funds for supported individuals, and complete administrative duties as required.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2-3 years of direct support work experience, with leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Education: DCSP or related post-secondary education.
  • Skills: Proficiency in computer programs, excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated and organized, ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Certifications: Current criminal record and abuse registry checks, First Aid Certification (level C).
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with hours reflective of the locations assigned. To provide additional support outside the standard work hours, you may be required to work some overtime hours with paid compensation.
