Role Overview:

As a Claims Consultant within our Public Entities division, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding municipal and community service organizations through our specialized insurance programs. Your expertise will be vital in managing both standard and complex risks while delivering exceptional value-added services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive claims expertise to enhance departmental guidelines and programs aimed at managing loss expenses effectively.
  • Participate in special initiatives to evaluate and improve claims processes and personnel performance.
  • Establish key performance indicators to assess service levels and the effectiveness of claims staff.
  • Conduct regular audits of claims files to ensure adherence to company standards, reporting findings to management and utilizing insights for improvement.
  • Lead the creation of technical training programs for claims staff by identifying needs, developing materials, and offering recommendations.
  • Offer expert consultation on complex claims, including technical guidance, exposure assessment, and participation in Alternative Dispute Resolution processes.
  • Assist in interpreting relevant case law.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree or a combination of relevant training and experience.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience across all lines, including casualty liability and property.
  • Litigation experience is advantageous.
  • Strong technical knowledge in claims management, coverage analysis, investigation, and quantum evaluation.
  • Familiarity with Alternative Dispute Resolution practices.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with adaptability to changing environments.
