About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Art Director to join our team at Ubisoft Entertainment. As a key member of our art department, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to our artists and developers to ensure the creation of high-quality, visually stunning game experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with our development teams, artists, and designers to develop and implement the overall visual direction and technical feasibility of our games.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify and analyze potential risks and challenges, and develop strategies to mitigate them and ensure the successful delivery of our projects.
  • Tool Development and Optimization: Assess and optimize existing tools and workflows, and design and implement new ones to support the creation of high-quality game assets and experiences.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance, feedback, and support to our technical artists and assistant technical art directors to help them grow and develop in their roles.
  • Technical Specifications and Approvals: Review and approve technical specifications and ensure that they align with our artistic vision and technical requirements.
  • Post-Mortem Analysis and Recommendations: Conduct post-mortem analysis of our projects and provide recommendations for improvement and future development.
  • Staying Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay current with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and share your knowledge with our team to ensure we are always pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
Requirements
  • Artistic and Technical Experience: A strong background in art, technical art, or programming, with experience in leadership and team management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in bug tracking software, version management systems, and other relevant tools and technologies.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
