Veterinary Medical Centre

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator provides high-level support and coordination to the Veterinary Medical Centre (VMC) within the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. This role involves working closely with the Human Resources Strategic Business Advisor and administrative team in a team-oriented, high-volume work setting with multiple and competing demands and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supports the recruitment process, including job profile creation, job advertisements, interview guides, and reference checks.
  • Develops and maintains HR systems, documents, and resources for the Clinic.
  • Provides generalist HR support, aiding the smooth functioning of the day-to-day human resources function.
  • Assists in the rollout and implementation of HR programs and projects.
  • Ensures compliance with Data Privacy and Protection Guidelines.
  • Acts as the first point of contact for queries, issues, and concerns.
  • Maintains awareness of office work priorities and projects to ensure appropriate individuals have necessary supports in place.
Requirements:

A relevant University degree, preferably in Human Resources or a related field, is required. A minimum of two (2) years of generalist Human Resources experience is preferred. Experience working in a diverse and inclusive environment is required. The demonstrated ability to support senior level administrators and to work effectively with confidential and sensitive information is essential.

Skills:

The successful candidate must be a multi-tasker who understands priorities and has proven problem-solving abilities. They must be creative, personable, and versatile, with strong verbal and written communication skills, exemplary interpersonal skills, and a high standard of professional integrity in handling sensitive information.
