Job Description

**Job Summary**

VenorTalent is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering and Maintenance to lead and oversee the technical and strategic operations of our maintenance and engineering departments. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliable and efficient performance of our process and utility equipment to support our operational goals.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide leadership in plant and maintenance reliability, aiming to minimize downtime and optimize overall plant performance.
  • Orchestrate collaboration between staff, students, and departments to ensure the efficient execution of engineering and maintenance tasks.
  • Deliver regular and accurate progress reports to the General Manager, which will include evaluations of project progress, budget status, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Identify potential project risks and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Maintain and enhance client relationships, representing the maintenance and engineering departments and driving continuous improvements toward achieving best-in-class performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and adherence to documentation, change controls, and training within the department.
  • Represent the maintenance and engineering departments during regulatory and client audits, instilling confidence in the robustness of our team.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and performance, focusing on client and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership, development, and performance management to the maintenance and engineering staff.
  • Generate, maintain, and report on unit performance metrics, driving efficiency and improvements.
  • Be accountable for financial and human resource budgeting for the unit, including planning, operating small capital projects, and monitoring performance against budgets.

**Requirements**

  • Hold a professional engineering degree and have at least seven years of experience in engineering and/or maintenance, preferably within the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, or consumer products industries.
  • Have a minimum of five years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and people management skills.
  • Be able to work under tight project timelines and manage complex projects.
  • Have previous experience managing a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) is preferred but not required.
  • Hold a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is also preferred.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, with knowledge of Smartsheet and AutoCAD being a plus.
