About the Role

Remcan Projects LP is seeking an experienced Signal and Communication Maintainer to join our team for the 2024 maintenance and construction season. As an S&C Maintainer, you will work as part of a team performing moderate to heavy physical labor installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing railroad signaling and communications equipment, as well as responding to emergencies and track outages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all Remcan and customer safety policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of railway industry and signal operations
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair railroad signaling and communications equipment
  • Respond to emergencies and track outages
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' rail experience installing and/or maintaining S&C systems
  • Basic knowledge of electrical fundamentals
  • Experience operating heavy equipment on-and-off track is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 or Class G driver's license and ability to produce a driver's abstract
  • Knowledge of and recent qualification in Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR)
  • Must pass eRailSafe Canada certification
  • Able to pass pre-employment medical which includes drug and alcohol screening
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised as well as in teams
  • Able to work various shifts as required, including weekends and night shifts
  • Able to work in various weather conditions all year round
  • Ability and willingness to travel to remote work locations as required
