Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team at PHSA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide administrative support to our clinical staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and databases, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
- Coordinate appointments, tests, and procedures, communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Prepare and edit documents, reports, and presentations, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist with research projects, data collection, and analysis, providing support to clinicians and researchers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, patients, and families.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and services.
Requirements
- Grade 12 graduation from a recognized secretarial program, including a recognized course in medical transcription and three years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to keyboard at 50 wpm.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively, demonstrating empathy and understanding in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
