Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Elm Hurst Inn & Spa. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes, as well as managing kitchen operations and supervising staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare menus, estimate food requirements, and requisition supplies
  • Coordinate special events, including buffets and banquets
  • Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety
  • Manage inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, and recruit and hire new staff as needed
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to work in a kitchen environment with frequent exposure to heat, noise, and physical activity
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and stand for long periods
