Medical Imaging Scheduling Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Imaging Scheduling Coordinator to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for scheduling and booking patient appointments for designated areas within Medical Imaging.
Key Responsibilities- Scheduling and Booking: Arrange patient appointments, receive requests, and respond to patient arrivals, checking schedules for available times and identifying pre-test instructions.
- Communication: Communicate with patients, doctor's offices, nursing units, physicians, technical staff, and surgical/medical daycare to confirm appointments and relay instructions.
- Registration and Data Entry: Enter patient information, booking, and image/film information into radiology and hospital computerized and/or manual booking and patient information systems.
- Requisitions and Labels: Prepare and confirm patient information, enter booking, patient, and image/film information into radiology and hospital computerized and/or manual booking and patient information systems, and fill requisitions for all bookings.
- Waiting List and Reporting: Provide patient waiting list information to supervisors, recording the number of appointments scheduled for various procedures and identifying the number of patients waiting to be scheduled.
- Receptionist Duties: Greet and direct patients and visitors, assist staff, answer telephones, take and/or relay messages, and respond to general inquiries related to patient appointments and/or release of patient information.
- Transportation and Orientation: Arrange transportation for patients required for transfer and/or appointments and orient new and relief staff to the scheduling and booking procedures of the assigned area.
- Education and Experience: Grade 12, two years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm, knowledge of medical terminology, ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, ability to deal with others effectively, physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, ability to organize work, and ability to operate related equipment.
