Join the City of Belleville team as an Aquatic Program Coordinator
About the Role:
The Aquatic Program Coordinator is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all aquatic programs and staff at the City of Belleville. This includes ensuring the safety and supervision of participants and staff, coordinating lifeguard and instructor rotations, and completing administrative tasks as required by the Aquatics Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and evaluate all aquatic programs and staff
- Ensure safety and supervision of participants and staff
- Coordinate lifeguard and instructor rotations
- Complete administrative tasks as required by the Aquatics Coordinator
- Assist with shift changes and coverage
- Act as a positive role model and work as a team to coordinate lifeguards and ensure staff are following proper protocols
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Swim Instructor- Lifesaving Society
- National Lifeguard Certification
- Standard First Aid and C.R. 'C' Certification
- Lifesaving Instructor- Lifesaving Society
- Examiner- up to Bronze Cross
- Aquatic Supervisor Certification
Asset Qualifications:
- Standard First Aid Instructor/ Examiner
- National Lifeguard Instructor/ Examiner
- Instructor Trainer- Lifesaving Society
- Certified Pool Operator
- Certified Aquafitness Instructor (AQX, CALA, WaterArt, YMCA)
Work Experience:
Minimum Required Experience:
- Two (2) years' experience instructing and lifeguarding
- Skill and efficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Asset (preferred) Experience:
- Experience with related recreation software (Xplor Recreation)
- Municipal recreation experience
