Are you passionate about providing exceptional nursing care? We are looking for a committed Registered Nurse who is eager to deliver empathetic patient support to become a part of our organization at Northern Health Authority.

Our rural healthcare facilities offer a comprehensive range of services, and depending on the location, the Registered Nurse may need to be proficient in various clinical environments.

This position encompasses multiple scenarios where nurses are required to operate in one or more areas that necessitate advanced training and experience.

In alignment with the established vision and values of our organization, the Registered Nurse practices according to the standards of professional conduct and ethical guidelines as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), while adhering to a patient and family-centered care approach.

The Registered Nurse works across diverse clinical environments and is accountable for the assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of patient care.

Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse guarantees the provision of client-centered care by assisting individual patients and their families in adapting to evolving healthcare needs.

The Registered Nurse demonstrates a specialized knowledge base and grounds their practice in nursing science, along with relevant insights from other scientific and humanistic disciplines.


Work Schedule: Days, Nights, 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating)

New Compensation :
The updated wage is: $59.52/hour

Northern Health Authority operates a five acute care bed hospital, complemented by seven long-term care beds. Services include emergency care, medical inpatient services, palliative care, primary care nursing, home support, and respiratory therapy.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant (BCCNM).
Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area as required by the position:

Emergency:
Advanced preparation in an Emergency Department clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within the last three years.

Perinatal:
Advanced preparation in a Perinatal clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Current Fetal Health Surveillance (FHS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications within the last two years. Current CPR certification within the last three years.

Operating Room:

Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area (perioperative nursing) and one year of recent related clinical experience in a similar operating room environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Assessment and Intervention – Proven ability to conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) and deliver nursing care through appropriate prescribed technical and therapeutic interventions.
  • Communication – Proven ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, the public, medical staff, and interdisciplinary team members using verbal, written, and digital communication methods.
  • Critical Thinking – Proven ability to synthesize and evaluate relevant data from multiple sources to solve problems effectively.
  • Human Caring and Relationship-Centered Practice – Ability to promote patient-focused care that demonstrates compassion for and with patients and significant others, while being sensitive to diverse cultures and preferences, advocating for patients, and addressing social justice issues.
  • Teaching – Ability to convey information intended to educate patients and others about essential health care topics.
  • Management – Effectively manages time and resources, fostering cooperation among relevant parties, collaboration across disciplines, and related activities.
  • Leadership – Encourages staff morale, collaboration, assertiveness, and innovation, while implementing organizational policies and promoting ongoing professional development.
  • Knowledge Integration – Utilizes factual information, prior learning, and foundational principles to support decisions and actions with relevant research-based evidence. Integrates best practices from nursing and health-related disciplines into professional practice.
  • Ability to operate relevant equipment, including necessary computer applications.
  • Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
