Job Overview:
Location: Charlotte, NC
The On-Site Gas Production Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of oxygen and nitrogen production facilities. This position demands strong technical skills in the primary product line, alongside expertise in instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems. The technician is expected to be proactive in addressing challenges and must be available for on-call duties. Occasional travel may be required for training and support purposes.
Responsibilities:
- Uphold safety, quality, and compliance standards at all operational sites.
- Conduct routine maintenance and calibration on various process equipment, including compressors and control systems.
- Effectively manage time to perform operational and maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting and resolving plant issues.
- Collaborate with contractors and internal resources to facilitate plant activities and audits.
- Strive to maintain or enhance plant efficiency.
- Occasionally assist in the training and development of new team members.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to procedures.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Experience in maintenance and repairs of industrial equipment.
- Understanding of process control and schematic interpretation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft applications and maintenance documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning.
Working Conditions:
The role requires the ability to perform various physical activities, including driving, walking on uneven surfaces, and lifting loads of varying weights. A typical work week consists of 40 hours, with on-call responsibilities during off-hours. The company provides necessary tools and equipment to support the technician's duties.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
- 2-5 years of relevant operational experience in fields such as air separation, instrumentation, or industrial maintenance.
