Position Overview

The Student Services Associate plays a pivotal role in enhancing the student experience at McMaster University. This position is designed to provide comprehensive support to both prospective and current students, ensuring a seamless integration of services throughout their academic journey.


Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, totaling 35 hours per week.


Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is required, along with a minimum of three years of pertinent experience.


Department Overview

The Office of the Registrar is dedicated to offering a variety of essential services to students, acting as the primary source of information regarding enrollment, graduation ceremonies, and key academic dates. Our collaborative team consists of approximately 100 professionals across nine departments, working together to support students from their initial contact until graduation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for student inquiries related to accounts, admissions, and credentials, addressing concerns with empathy and understanding.
  • Utilize a comprehensive knowledge base to anticipate student needs and provide accurate information and documentation.
  • Oversee the credential management process, including the issuance of transcripts, verification letters, and diplomas.
  • Assist students in navigating immigration, scholarship, and financial documentation requirements.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in handling student records and documentation.
  • Provide responsive service through various communication channels, including online chat and in-person interactions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to compile and verify student data efficiently.
  • Interpret and communicate university policies clearly to students and alumni.
  • Engage with students to identify those in need of additional support and refer them to appropriate services.
  • Contribute to projects aimed at improving service delivery and enhancing the overall student experience.
