Student Services Counsellor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Student Services Counsellor to join our team at Aitchison College of Technology & Health Sciences Inc. The successful candidate will provide academic support, career guidance, and personal development services to students, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Academic Support: Provide individualized academic support to students, including tutoring, mentoring, and academic advising.
- Career Guidance: Offer career guidance and counselling to students, helping them explore their interests, skills, and strengths to make informed career decisions.
- Personal Development: Facilitate personal development programs and workshops to help students build essential life skills, such as time management, goal setting, and stress management.
- Supervision: Supervise teaching assistants and peer counsellors, ensuring they provide high-quality support to students.
- Community Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies, educational institutions, and employers to provide students with opportunities for internships, job shadowing, and career advancement.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in student services, career guidance, and personal development.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as counselling, education, or psychology.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in student services, career guidance, or personal development.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse student populations, and strong organizational and time management skills.
- Specialized Knowledge: Knowledge of career development theories, academic support strategies, and personal development principles.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, providing support to students in a private school setting. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
