About the Role

The University Health Network is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Interventional Radiology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality medical imaging services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of nursing science, theory, skill, and critical decision-making in the provision of compassionate, collaborative, and competent care in accordance with the UHN Professional Practice Model for Nursing and the mission and vision of nursing at the UHN.
  • Ensure practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the UHN policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional lifelong learning by participating in continuing education activities to meet the needs of the patient population served and the standards of the profession.
  • Perform reflective practice, analyzing and evaluating nursing knowledge and modifying practice accordingly to improve the quality of nursing and patient care.
  • Perform cross-functional and other responsibilities, as assigned and/or requested.

Requirements

  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • ACLS certification, preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years recent acute care experience (Intensive Care, Emergency, Acute Care/Step-down, Cath lab, Operating Room) nursing experience.
  • Previous Interventional Radiology experience, preferred.
  • Completion and Certification in Bedside PICC insertions, preferred.
  • Completion of a recognized Critical Care certificate.
  • Venipuncture and insertion skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and decision-making, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Must be flexible and possess the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a variety of patient care teams.
  • Demonstrated evidence of ongoing education in nursing.
  • Must be able to work wearing lead apron/vest all day.
  • Must be able to respond to on-call notifications (arrive at the hospital) within 1 hour maximum.
