Position Overview

Union: ONA - TG
Department: Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI), Interventional Radiology
Reports to: Manager
Status: Temporary Full Time (Approx. 2 years)
Shifts: Variable 24/7; On-Call as needed

As a member of the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI), you will be part of one of Canada's largest academic medical imaging departments, renowned for its commitment to clinical excellence. With a focus on patient care and exceptional imaging quality, our dedicated team utilizes cutting-edge technology to perform over 750,000 exams annually. Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize nursing science and critical decision-making skills to provide compassionate and competent care in alignment with UHN's Professional Practice Model.
  • Ensure adherence to professional standards and ethical guidelines as established by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Engage in lifelong learning through continuing education to meet the evolving needs of patients and uphold professional standards.
  • Conduct reflective practice to evaluate and enhance nursing knowledge and patient care quality.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Certification in Cardiac Life Support.
  • Preferred ACLS certification.
  • Minimum of two years of recent acute care nursing experience in settings such as Intensive Care, Emergency, or Operating Room.
  • Previous experience in Interventional Radiology is preferred.
  • Certification in Bedside PICC insertions is preferred.
  • Completion of a recognized Critical Care certificate.
  • Proficient in venipuncture and insertion techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work effectively within diverse patient care teams.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in nursing.
  • Ability to work while wearing lead protection for extended periods.
  • Capacity to respond to on-call notifications promptly.
