About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the University Health Network, a leading academic medical imaging department in Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality medical imaging services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply your knowledge of nursing science and critical decision-making to provide compassionate, collaborative, and competent care to patients.
  • Ensure practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the University Health Network's policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrate commitment to lifelong learning by participating in continuing education activities to meet the needs of the patient population served and the standards of the profession.
  • Perform reflective practice, analyzing and evaluating nursing knowledge, and modifying practice accordingly to improve the quality of nursing and patient care.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • ACLS certification, preferred.
  • Minimum of two years recent acute care experience (e.g., Intensive Care, Emergency, Acute Care/Step-down, Cath lab, Operating Room) nursing experience.
  • Previous Interventional Radiology experience, preferred.
  • Completion of a recognized Critical Care certificate.
  • Completion of a recognized Emergency Nursing certificate.
  • Venipuncture and I.V. insertion skills.
  • Meets MRI safety guidelines and is able to work in an MRI environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and decision-making, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Must be flexible and possess the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a variety of patient care teams.
  • Demonstrated evidence of ongoing education in nursing.
  • Must be able to work wearing a lead apron/vest all day.
  • Must be able to respond to on-call notifications (arrive at the hospital) within 30 minutes maximum.
