ROLE OVERVIEW

Located in our Toronto facility, the Process Improvement Analyst will work from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, engaging in a 40-hour work week with flexibility based on business requirements. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager, this role is pivotal in achieving objectives related to various process control initiatives within the department, optimizing production workflows, and enhancing quality management along with performance and productivity metrics. The Analyst will assist supervisors, uphold EssilorLuxottica's standards for continuous improvement and quality, and ensure hands-on process control addressing calibration needs to enhance operations. This position also involves coordinating process standardization and providing training support to employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement continuous improvement processes within the Coating department.
  • Act as a liaison between Global Engineering and the Coating production team concerning process control, equipment calibration, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and follow up on LTS and/or Global Engineering support to apply necessary changes in line with process standardization.
  • Maintain and update the process control Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the Coating department.
  • Support Supervisors in launching new products, managing production flows, and overseeing project management tasks.
  • Analyze production rejects and devise strategies to mitigate non-performance issues.
  • Track production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and propose solutions for process enhancement.
  • Ensure all machine parameters are accurately recorded and compliant with standardization protocols.
  • Coordinate and deliver LOFT training sessions.
  • Develop training materials, SOPs, and best practices for processes and equipment calibration.
  • Provide training to team members and create tools to ensure the accuracy and integrity of reporting results.
  • Establish and validate work sequences for each station in the Coating department.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance and EHS departments to ensure proper chemical disposal in accordance with EHS policies.
  • Update Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as necessary and maintain a safe, clean working environment.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure all machinery is properly maintained and calibrated to meet Global Engineering standards.
  • Identify and communicate issues to the Maintenance department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven teamwork, analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office is highly recommended.
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, standardization, calibration, and operational workflows.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
