About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Moving Helper to join our team at Traditional Moving & Storage (Thunder Bay), a business unit of Gardewine. As a Moving Helper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth relocation of our customers' household goods and office furniture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all customers, ensuring a positive experience throughout the moving process.
  • Load and unload household goods, including boxes and furniture, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Participate in the packing of household items, adhering to all policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, keeping them informed of activities and ensuring seamless coordination.
  • Work in a safe manner, complying with all Gardewine safe work policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the team's goals and objectives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to perform the physical demands of the job.
  • Prior experience loading and unloading household/office furniture and specialty freight.
  • A proven history of working in collaborative teams.
Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to move boxes, furniture, and office equipment as needed. You will need to be physically capable of bending, lifting, turning, carrying, twisting, and going up and down stairs while carrying weight.

We provide a competitive base salary, extended health benefits, life and disability insurance, retirement packages, and a profit-sharing program. This is a part-time position with full-time availability, and we offer a pay scale of $16.35-$19.26 per hour.
