Position Overview:

Traditional Moving & Storage (Thunder Bay), a division of Gardewine, is a prominent moving and storage service provider operating across North Western Ontario, facilitating relocations for families both nationally and internationally.

The Moving Assistance Specialist plays a crucial role in the process of loading and unloading personal belongings, including boxes and furniture, while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver friendly and positive customer interactions to all clients.
  • Uphold respect and ensure compliance with property regulations while on customer premises.
  • Engage in the packing of personal items as needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies and governmental regulations during the packing, loading, and unloading processes.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the driver regarding ongoing activities.
  • Efficiently load and unload items, ensuring proper tagging, listing, padding, and protection of furniture.
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to Gardewine's safe work policies and procedures.
  • Undertake additional tasks as necessary to support operational goals.

Required Qualifications

Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service, alongside the physical capability to meet the demands of this role. Previous experience in loading and unloading household or office furnishings, as well as specialty freight, is preferred. A proven track record of effective teamwork is essential.

Physical Demands

Candidates must be capable of moving boxes, furniture, and office equipment as required. This includes bending, lifting, carrying, twisting, and navigating stairs while managing weight.

Compensation: The pay scale ranges from $16.35 to $19.26 per hour.
