Job Title: Employer-Employee Relations Co-ordinator

Ontario Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employer-Employee Relations Co-ordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will play a critical role in maintaining positive employer-employee relations and ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer staff consultation and grievance procedures to resolve conflicts and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Assign projects to subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labour relations, and employee relations, ensuring effective implementation and evaluation.
  • Coordinate HR department activities to meet organizational goals, including planning, developing, and implementing human resources policies and programs.
  • Evaluate daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Plan and control budget and expenditures for HR-related initiatives and programs.
  • Advise managers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, benefit programs, and collective agreements, ensuring compliance and understanding.
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures to promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Mediate labour disputes and grievances, providing fair and impartial resolution.
  • Plan, develop, and implement recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions, and salary scales to ensure fairness and equity.
  • Administer benefit employment equity and other human resources programs to promote diversity and inclusion.
  • Manage contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance and adherence to organizational policies.
  • Co-ordinate employee performance and appraisal programs to promote growth and development.
  • Oversee the analysis of employee data and information to inform HR decisions and strategies.
  • Research employee benefits and health and safety practices, recommending changes to enhance employee well-being.
  • Oversee the development of communication strategies to promote employee engagement and understanding.
  • Respond to employee questions and complaints, providing timely and effective resolution.
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff to ensure effective team performance and development.
  • Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers, ensuring fair and equitable outcomes.
  • Organize staff consultation and grievance procedures to promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Oversee payroll administration to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Recruit and hire staff to meet organizational needs and goals.
  • Manage knowledge and information to inform HR decisions and strategies.
  • Conduct performance reviews to evaluate employee performance and provide feedback for growth and development.
  • Propose improvements to methods, systems, and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Evaluate work environments, programs, and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury.
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of experience in human resources, labour relations, or a related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and partnership.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees, managers, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects and tasks, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results.
  • Strong knowledge of human resources policies, procedures, and laws, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and effective manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on adaptability and flexibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in human resources, labour relations, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in human resources, such as CHRP or SHRM-CP.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment, with a strong understanding of collective bargaining and labour relations.
  • Knowledge of human resources software and systems, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and effective manner.
  • Experience working in a diverse and inclusive environment, with a strong focus on promoting diversity and inclusion.
