Your Opportunity:

The role of Clinical Educator is essential in overseeing the EMS Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) program. This position entails the creation and execution of orientation programs for new MIH staff, as well as providing ongoing clinical support and educational modules tailored for staff development. Collaboration with MIH Operations and MIH Quality and Patient Safety is crucial for various initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery.

Role Overview:

As a Clinical Educator within EMS, you will be tasked with identifying, designing, implementing, and facilitating a range of training programs and initiatives. Your responsibilities will include monitoring the application of learned skills in practical settings, supporting the competency evaluation process for EMS practitioners, and delivering continuous learning and development assistance to EMS personnel. Training methods will encompass lectures, e-learning, simulation exercises, and real-time coaching tailored to specific situations.

Required Qualifications:

- Completion of an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program through the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP).
- Active registration and practice permit with the ACP.
- Valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with a maximum of six (6) demerits.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- Successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation within the stipulated timeframe.

Additional Required Qualifications:

- A minimum of five years of field experience as an Advanced Care Paramedic, with a commitment to maintaining clinical proficiency through regular field rotations.
- Experience in delivering educational content in classroom and/or online formats, specifically focused on adult learning principles.
- Familiarity with EMS Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) or equivalent community paramedic programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Instructor certifications in ACLS, ACLS-EP, PALS, ITLS, NRP, BLS (CPR), NVCI, and The Working Minds for First Responders.
- Post-secondary education or a University Degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
- Background in AV/computer software, including photography, video, Lectora, and Captivate.
- Experience in curriculum development and instructional design is a plus.
