Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Care Paramedic to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As an Advanced Care Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing patient care and transportation services to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess emergency scenes and patients, and transport ill or injured patients from emergency scenes and between facilities.
  • Treat patients by administering medications, advanced life support (ALS) airway adjuncts, and electrical therapy.
  • Lead the ALS crew in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes.
  • Ensure that ambulances or other Emergency Medical Services (EMS) vehicles are properly stocked and equipped.
Requirements
  • Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
  • Valid class 4 Alberta Operator License or equivalent.
  • Five (5) year driver abstract current within six (6) months with no more than six (6) demerits prior to commencing work.
  • Proof of successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (FARE) test.
Working Conditions

The working environment for an Advanced Care Paramedic is demanding and includes exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind, moving traffic, and industrial and agricultural equipment. Travel in all weather conditions and to remote locations is required.
