About the Role:

As an Advanced Care Paramedic with Alberta Health Services, you will be a key member of our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care and transportation services. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients, while also providing critical care and support to those in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess emergency scenes and patients, and provide critical care and support as needed
  • Transport ill or injured patients from emergency scenes and between facilities, using ambulances or other modes of transportation
  • Administer medications, advanced life support (ALS) airway adjuncts, and electrical therapy as required
  • Lead ALS crews in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes
  • Ensure that ambulances or other EMS vehicles are properly stocked and equipped

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program
  • Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six (6) demerits
  • Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (FARE) test, taken within the past six (6) months

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months experience working as a posted designation in EMS frontline operations
  • Current, relevant experience as an AHS employee working in Metro EMS, dedicated Intra-facility transport, and Suburban/Rural EMS
