Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Renal Assistant to join our team. As a Renal Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dialysis services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain dialysis equipment and supplies for patient treatments in a clinical setting.
  • Clean and sanitize dialysis equipment to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Collect and record patient vital signs and weight information before and after dialysis treatments.
  • Document clinical activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage inventory of medical and surgical supplies.
  • Perform water quality testing and maintain equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Transport patients safely and efficiently.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support the dialysis team.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary diploma in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) is preferred.
  • Renal Assistant Certificate is an asset.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to lift and handle equipment and supplies independently.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
