About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Chef to join our team at Osmows- Clarkson. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting our chefs in the preparation and cooking of food, as well as maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Requisitioning Supplies: Accurately estimate the amount and costs of supplies and food items, and requisition them as needed.
  • Food Cost Control: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Culinary Leadership: Instruct and train cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food, and ensure that all dishes meet our high quality standards.
  • Menu Planning: Assist in planning menus and ensuring that food meets quality standards, and prepare and cook meals or specialty foods as required.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve our culinary goals, and contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
