Position Overview:

The FSQA Supervisor plays a crucial role in safeguarding food quality by overseeing FSQA Technicians to ensure the effective execution of food safety and quality protocols, while adhering to all regulatory, customer, and Aspire Bakeries standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards, including BRC and SQF.
  • Support the HARPC Team in establishing a robust Food Safety plan aimed at eliminating biological, chemical, physical, and economically motivated hazards.
  • Manage documentation, control, and upkeep of the Quality Management System (QMS), which includes procedures, records, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
  • Strive to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Utilize root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures to minimize customer and consumer complaints regarding products manufactured on-site.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Tech 3 FSQAs, including their training, development, and clear objective setting to fulfill bakery requirements.
  • Report food safety and quality concerns, along with corrective actions and preventive measures, to the Manager of FSQA.
  • Conduct coaching, development, and performance evaluations for all Tech 3 FSQAs.
  • Ensure the completion of the annual review of Quality Assurance Procedures by all FSQA Technologists.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of quality-related issues concerning finished products on hold.
  • Maintain hygiene, safety, and quality standards on the production floor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or relevant post-secondary education in a science-related field.
  • Training in HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points).
  • Familiarity with a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard such as BRC or SQF.
  • Basic knowledge of microbiology.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in food industry manufacturing or quality, including supervisory roles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of quality management and food safety systems.

Shift: Day shift, 12-hour continental.
