Job Summary

The FSQA Supervisor plays a critical role in protecting our food products by supervising FSQA Technicians to effectively implement food safety and quality procedures and meeting all regulatory, customer, and Aspire Bakeries requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards, including BRC and SQF.
  • Support the HARPC Team in implementing an effective Food Safety plan focused on eliminating biological, chemical, physical, and economically motivated hazards from our foods.
  • Document, control, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), including procedures, records, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
  • Meet and exceed customer requirements.
  • Reduce customer/consumer complaints for foods manufactured on site using root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Tech 3, FSQAs, including training and development, and clear identification of objectives to meet the bakery needs.
  • Report food safety and quality issues, corrective actions, and preventive measures to the Manager, FSQA.
  • Coach, develop, and perform evaluations of all Tech 3, FSQAs.
  • Ensure completion of Quality Assurance Procedures Annual review by all FSQA Technologists.
  • Assist in investigating and disposing of finished product placed on hold due to quality issues.
  • Maintain required hygiene, safety, and quality standards on the production floor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or relevant post-secondary science-related courses.
  • Training in HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points).
  • Trained in a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard such as BRC or SQF.
  • Basic understanding of microbiology.
  • 3 years of food industry manufacturing or quality experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong and effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent knowledge of quality management and food safety systems.
