Join Our Team as a Clinical Pathologist

Langford Veterinary Services is seeking a dedicated Clinical Pathologist to enhance our current team of experienced professionals. Our Diagnostic Laboratories are accredited by the ECVCP (European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology) and offer a collaborative environment that includes expertise in various areas such as Haematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Molecular Diagnostics.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic services, working closely with a diverse team of clinical experts across multiple animal species. We encourage applicants with a specialist qualification in veterinary clinical pathology, such as Diplomate status from the European or American College of Veterinary Pathology, or a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists. However, we also welcome board-eligible clinical pathologists and those with significant experience in diagnostic clinical pathology.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver exceptional clinical pathology services to our clients and assist in the growth of our diagnostic offerings.
  2. Ensure timely communication and collaboration with the Diagnostic Laboratories team to meet turnaround expectations.
  3. Contribute to the professional development of others through training and CPD initiatives.
  4. Provide comprehensive clinical pathology services, including the examination and interpretation of cytological samples and diagnostic results.
  5. Engage in quality control and enhancement of diagnostic services.
  6. Offer expert advice to veterinary surgeons as needed.
  7. Maintain clinical pathology practices in accordance with RCVS standards.
  8. Participate in interdisciplinary medicine rounds to support clinical case management.
  9. Assist in promoting the clinical pathology diagnostic service through marketing efforts.
  10. Adhere to all established protocols and policies.
  11. Engage in clinical research projects in collaboration with academic partners.
  12. Support undergraduate education and provide mentorship to students.
  13. Participate in training initiatives to expand service offerings.
  14. Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement solutions.
  15. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  16. Complete administrative tasks and other reasonable requests from management.
