Mendip Vale Medical Group is seeking a skilled Prescription Clerk to join our team in providing exceptional patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients in obtaining their medications in a timely and safe manner.
- Direct patients to appropriate services relating to their healthcare in a courteous, efficient, and effective way.
- Manage patient expectations and communicate relevant information between patients and healthcare professionals.
- Develop good working relationships with patients, GP's, nurses, and other surgery staff.
- Support the Team Leader in delivering safe and efficient responses to patient medication requirements.
- Deal with queries and repeat prescription requests, ensuring all current medication has relevant, current authorisations.
- Make relevant appointments by telephone using a computerised system.
- Deal with clerical matters such as changes of patient details, EPS nominations, completion of forms, etc.
- Work closely with the Clinical Pharmacist team to assist with cost-effective prescribing, QOF compliance, and prescribing targets.
- GCSE in English and Maths at Grade C or above, or equivalent experience.
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (desirable).
- Prioritise tasks and manage competing demands on time, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Apply tact and sensitivity to establish trust and confidence.
- Good communication skills, able to communicate effectively across different levels.
- Experience of delivering customer service in an NHS environment or similar patient/customer-facing role.
- Administrative experience.
