Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our Dermatology team at Langford Veterinary Services. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality dermatology services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Coordination: Assist in the coordination of clinical activities and in-patient caseload within the Dermatology Department, including owner visits and discharge appointments, triage of advice calls, and attending in-patient rounds.
  • Procedure Support: Assist with procedures, including skin biopsies, in-house cytology, diagnostic imaging for Dermatology cases, and other laboratory work.
  • Client Communication: Communicate effectively with owners regarding in-patients, including liaison with the nursing team and arranging owner visits.
  • Research Support: Assist with co-ordinating and collecting data for research projects, and liaison with other relevant staff and departments for the transfer of patients/joint projects.
  • Education and Training: Assess and supervise BVSc and VNCAB/VNBS undergraduates during clinical rotations, including undertaking the role of Clinical Coach.
  • Professional Development: Maintain a good working relationship with all team members, communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, and proactively identify and act upon opportunities for business improvement.
Requirements
  • Registered and clinically experienced veterinary nurse with a minimum of 12 months working as a VN in clinical practice.
  • Previous experience with dermatology cases and experience of working within a referral environment.
  • Advanced diploma or similar, and ability to carry out veterinary nursing duties as listed above.
  • Clinical coach or similar, and RCVS listed veterinary nurse.
  • Interest in advancing own qualifications and commitment to ongoing professional development.
