The Position:

The Key Account Manager for Manitoba will be tasked with forecasting, developing promotional and sales strategies, and managing client relationships to achieve sales targets, alongside overseeing the Field Sales Team. This role will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to enhance sales in Manitoba through strategic portfolio management.

The primary objectives of this position include:

  • Managing daily market and sales team needs to secure provincial listings and marketing approvals, ultimately increasing sales volume and dollar share for Arterra Wines Canada.
  • Achieving annual sales volume targets and providing accurate forecasts.
  • Employing Arterra Wines Canada's sales methodology to enhance volume, revenue, and market share while ensuring strong EBIT and ROI.
  • Acting as the main contact and expert, facilitating effective communication with stakeholders to ensure successful execution of plans and promotional strategies.
  • Possessing comprehensive knowledge of MBLL, its policies, regulations, and key personnel.
  • Developing the MBLL Strategic Account Plan, identifying opportunities and risks, and crafting category strategies to surpass competitors.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key MBLL contacts as a trusted supplier.
  • Taking a proactive approach in collaboration with internal departments such as Customer Solutions, Marketing, Revenue Management, and Consumer Insights to optimize MBLL outcomes.
  • Creating and delivering compelling, data-driven category presentations.
  • Overseeing all aspects of the New Product Development process for the Manitoba market, including timely negotiations for new product listings.
  • Conducting monthly portfolio performance reviews and bi-annual business reviews with both customers and internal teams.
  • Leading the annual planning process for the Manitoba market.
  • Managing inventory for MBLL in collaboration with the Sales Operations Manager to influence buying patterns.
  • Forecasting inventory needs to meet demand for targeted initiatives.
  • Performing post-promotional analyses.
  • Setting and managing annual goals and monthly targets for the Field Sales Team.
  • Coaching and developing the Field Sales Team.
  • Participating in industry-related events.

Qualifications:

  • A University Degree or equivalent, preferably in Business, Sales, or Marketing.
  • A proven track record in a similar role with 3-5 years of experience.
  • WSET or ISG Certification is an asset.
  • Experience in Key Account Management at a Head Office level.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Sales and Negotiation.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively engage with customers and colleagues.
  • Results-driven, self-motivated, and disciplined.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • A genuine interest in the beverage alcohol industry.
  • Ability to lift wine cases weighing up to 45 pounds.
