Elections Manitoba is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Director of Strategic Initiatives. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role will play a critical part in driving process optimization and enhanced service delivery in preparation for election events.
Key Responsibilities- Establish a framework and mechanisms for ongoing environmental scanning and analysis to identify current and emerging issues.
- Prepare detailed reports, discussion papers, and briefing notes on key issues to inform decision-making.
- Contribute to longer-term strategic planning for the organization and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on various projects.
- Support the CEO and Senior Leadership Team in developing accountability mechanisms, including evaluation, performance measures, and dashboard reporting.
- Master's degree in a relevant field (considered an asset).
- Extensive experience conducting and preparing legislative, regulatory, jurisdictional, and policy research and analysis on complex political processes and interactions.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, with experience in research and analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in leveraging opportunities for innovation, finding creative solutions to issues, and successfully managing change.
- Strong political acumen, with the ability to manage confidential and politically sensitive material and situations with diplomacy and tact.
- Proven capability to identify and deliver key strategic insights, counsel, and policy to decision-makers.
- Experience supervising teams, leading, managing, and coordinating projects.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing demands within tight timelines.
- Experience using data analysis tools and modeling to support business case development, impact analysis, and cost estimations.
- Experience working in a government or public sector environment.
- Knowledge of the Canadian electoral process and regulatory environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and build strong relationships.
