We are seeking a Health and Safety Environment (HSE) Specialist to enhance our operations. This role is essential for maintaining safety standards across our projects.

As our HSE Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and guidelines for Plan Group Inc. and associated subcontractors. Organizing and delivering safety training sessions for employees at various levels (e.g., Fire Safety, WHMIS 2015, Working at Heights, Equipment Training, New Employee Orientation, etc.). Serving as a key resource for health and safety inquiries, issues, and concerns related to the project. Providing guidance to staff, management, and project leaders on health and safety matters (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, Standards, Constructor Policies, etc.). Creating and implementing programs and procedures to meet new health and safety legislation or requirements. Conducting site inspections, documenting findings, and coordinating follow-up actions with relevant parties. Investigating incidents, unsafe conditions, and near misses to enhance safety measures. Staying informed about advancements in health and safety technologies (e.g., Elevated Work Platforms, Arc Flash protection, etc.) as necessary. Assisting in the evaluation of safety programs and documentation, while tracking incident data to develop proactive safety strategies. Supporting WSIB claims and Return to Work initiatives. Actively participating in both internal and external safety committees. Managing and organizing all safety-related documentation and information within the HSE Department. Collaborating with worker Health and Safety Representatives and liaising with safety personnel from other contractors as required. Engaging with suppliers regarding new product developments, deliveries, WHMIS, and other safety-related information. Encouraging employee involvement in new safety policies and fostering a positive health and safety culture.

The ideal candidate will possess:

A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in safety within the construction sector. A degree in health and safety or a related field is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe. A willingness to work on-site. National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification is advantageous.
