MatchBox Consulting Group is in search of a Safety Compliance Specialist for our esteemed client, a prominent high-rise developer-builder in Canada. The Safety Compliance Specialist will be a dedicated and skilled professional responsible for upholding the utmost safety standards across various projects. This role involves collaborating with diverse teams to enforce safety regulations, protocols, and best practices while playing a pivotal role in identifying potential risks, conducting regular assessments, and providing thorough safety training to all personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement tailored safety strategies for each construction site, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  2. Conduct routine evaluations to detect potential hazards and proactively introduce measures to mitigate risks.
  3. Provide expert guidance and support to project teams, subcontractors, and employees regarding safety regulations and procedures.
  4. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, delivering detailed reports with actionable recommendations for enhancement.
  5. Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry benchmarks.
  6. Facilitate safety orientation and training programs for newly onboarded employees and subcontractors.
  7. Stay informed on industry developments, emerging regulations, and advancements in safety methodologies.
Qualifications:
  1. A diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Safety Compliance Specialist, preferably within the real estate or construction industry.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of local safety regulations and industry standards.
  4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  5. A proven history of conducting thorough inspections, assessing risks, and implementing proactive safety measures.
  6. Occupational First Aid certifications and specialized safety training programs are advantageous.
  7. Familiarity with safety management software and tools is preferred.
