CB Canada is a leading organization in the healthcare industry, dedicated to providing exceptional services to vulnerable groups. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Health and Safety Manager to lead our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective OHS strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of safety within our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement OHS Strategies
    • Translate organizational strategies and plans into workable OHS programs
    • Work with stakeholders to apply OHS knowledge and ensure measures are taken to protect the health and safety of workers
  • Lead OHS Services
    • Lead day-to-day delivery of OHS services while supervising OHS staff
    • Develop and implement frameworks of policies and procedures to mitigate risk
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Keep current with changes to legislation, regulatory compliance matters, industry trends, etc.
    • Lead program-related initiatives
  • Training and Development
    • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of OHS training for employees
    • Implement Incident Reporting, Investigation, and Response Programming, and Serious Incident Reporting
  • Other Duties
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • Degree in OHS or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Skills and Certifications
    • Project Management/Change Management training an asset
    • Canadian Safety Professional certification preferred (CRSP, CHSC, CRST, CSC, ROH/ROHT, CIH, CCPE, COHN, CET, CIH, CSHM, CPHR)
  • Other Requirements
    • Driver's license with clean driving record and access to vehicle
    • 5-7 years' management/leadership experience
