The Privacy and Access Council of Canada (PACC-CCAP) is seeking a dedicated Privacy Compliance Specialist to join our Information Management team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements privacy compliance initiatives, educating internal stakeholders on privacy trends and legislative changes affecting PACC-CCAP.
- Collaborates with both internal and external partners on projects involving the management and sharing of information to safeguard personal data.
- Works closely with the Privacy Office and relevant stakeholders to define and operationalize privacy protection objectives.
- Analyzes and formulates organization-wide privacy policies and procedures.
- Ensures clarity regarding Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and designs processes for centralized tracking and response.
- Manages and addresses FOI requests, including the redaction of sensitive information.
- Collaborates with IT security and risk assessment teams to maintain compliance with provincial privacy laws and regulations.
- Conducts privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and supports ongoing compliance monitoring in partnership with IT security and risk assessment resources.
- Responds effectively to privacy breaches, following established incident response protocols to mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in privacy and information access roles, with a successful track record in managing cross-functional privacy projects.
- Certification as an Information Privacy Professional (CIPM, CIPP/C, or CIPT) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with relevant privacy legislation, including the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
- Experience in conducting PIAs and developing associated processes.
- Understanding of privacy industry standards and frameworks.
- Experience in privacy-centric projects, such as Privacy-by-Design and privacy-enhancing technologies.
- Proven ability to communicate privacy requirements effectively to various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and their implications for data privacy.
- Experience in a public body related to privacy and FOI is a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural humility.
